Being a trustworthy leader

Trust thought for today - Being a trustworthy leader

I am enjoying the research for measuring trust and finding what behaviours are relevant under my 7 Qualities of Trustworthiness for companies. Here from HBR something about being a trustworthy leader:

* Be who you say you are (integrity?)
* Embody your stated values (evidence of trustworthiness)
* Acknowledge any say-do gaps (openness)
* Treat others and their work with dignity (respect)
* Create opportunities for others to shine (inclusion)
* Offer and invite dissent and feedback (openness/honesty)
* Build bridges that unify (inclusion)
* Turn rivals into accomplices (inclusion)
* Be fascinated by others to create belonging (I have no idea what that means and will put it on the bullsh*t listing under Guff)

I am also researching the concept of a Net Promotor Score which hoped to define the one silver bullet question to correlate customer loyalty to company growth, which is "On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend our company?"

I wondered if the silver bullet answer to 'how to be a trustworthy leader' might come back to the wise words of Paul Spiers young son, who when he was explaining about corporate responsibility said: 'Oh right, so you mean Be Kind and Don't Be A Dick?'

Leaders, why not start there.
